Rockland County roofing contractor Advanced Roofing is responsible for this nice detail on a recently completed roof installation in Pomona, New York. This picture shows the corner of a new copper flashed brick chimney. The chimney apron has been installed along with the copper shingle tins. The copper apron was installed first at the lower edge of the chimeny and is secured to the roof with copper cleats at the bottom edge. The copper shingle tins were run up the side of the chimney and the lower corner tin was bent aroung and soldered to the apron flashing.

The lower morter joint of the chimney was cleaned of old morter and the apron counter flashing was inserted. The apron will be held in place when the side counter flashing is cut to wrap around the apron corner tab, and then the apron and side flashing are folded over and flattened against the chimney. |
