Installing copper drip edge on a roof with a crown molding edge trim at the eave. Many older houses have crown molding both on the rake, or gable end edge, and at the bottom edge / eave if the roof. There is no fascia / gutter board and the rain gutter hangs from some type of strap attached to the roof deck under the shingles.
Here, the ice and water shield is laid directly to the roof deck, and over the eave and crown molding. Covering the gap where the molding meets the roof boards.
The ice and water shield has been trimmed back so as not to show beneath the copper drip edge
