Damage to brick walls due to ice damming.
Ice damming caused by insufficient insulation and no ventilation in the attic resulting in deteriorating mortar on the brick wall below.
Mortar joints, well visible to the left, have been popped loose from expanding freezing water leaking from the ice dam above.
Ice buildup, caused by lack of roof ventilation (notice the lack of any soffit vents), have fallen and smashed the roof tiles on this lower shed roof.
